FMCG
Which sales points are you missing?
In the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, accurate location strategies and effective field operations are key to gaining a competitive advantage. Next Geo helps FMCG companies optimize their commercial marketing and operational activities with its rich data library and AI-powered technologies.
THE QUESTION ON THE SECTORS PAGE
Which sales points are we missing, and what route should the field team follow?
The question has two halves, and so does this page.
POINTS
Where your product reached the shelf and where it did not; which of the outlets you do not serve are worth the most, and which product belongs in each.
FIELD
Which point the team visits in what order, how the visit is recorded, and how tomorrow’s route is rebuilt from what came back.
- 6ANALYSIS TITLES
- 4SOLUTION PAGES
- 1PRODUCT PAGE
All three numbers can be counted from this page: the six analysis titles below, and the four solution pages and one product page they resolve into.
SAMPLE OUTPUT
Where are we absent, and where does the team go tomorrow?
The table is a coverage scorecard for one sales territory: how many eligible outlets are still open in each district. The strip below it is one day of field visits for the district in the table’s first row. Both are outputs of the six analysis titles further down this page.
| DISTRICT | ELIGIBLE | OPEN | COVERAGE |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ümraniye | 230 | 97 | 58% |
| Kadıköy | 210 | 61 | 71% |
| Ataşehir | 184 | 44 | 76% |
| Maltepe | 165 | 28 | 83% |
| Four-district total | 789 | 230 | 71% |
The coverage rate is the share of a district’s eligible sales point universe that carries your product. These four districts hold 789 eligible outlets; you are in 559 of them and 230 are open. The open column is where new sales point acquisition starts. The bottom row is the arithmetic of the four rows above it, not a separate measurement.
VISIT ORDER · 5 STOPS · 8.6 KM
- 01 Supermarket · Çakmak Mah. EXISTING OUTLET 1.2 km
- 02 Corner shop · Çakmak Mah. NEW OUTLET LEAD 0.4 km
- 03 Chain branch · Atatürk Mah. EXISTING OUTLET 2.1 km
- 04 Supermarket · Esenşehir Mah. NEW OUTLET LEAD 3.3 km
- 05 Kiosk · Esenşehir Mah. EXISTING OUTLET 1.6 km
Five visits, 8.6 km in total. The order comes from visit frequency and outlet potential; two of the stops are drawn from the open-outlet column in the table. The team sees the same list in Location Analysis Mobile and records the visit on site.
Sample output. Figures are illustrative. Real scorecards are produced from your own sales point list.

Points and Field is a reading order, not a separate product family: all six titles run on the same data infrastructure. The titles and their descriptions are the ones listed on the FMCG card on /en/sectors/. The first two rows resolve into the same solution page because the point database and matching they both rely on are described there.
HOW WE START
From your outlet list to a coverage scorecard.
Three steps. Behind each one is a named Next Geo solution or product — no surprise layer in between.
-
01
Your outlet list lands on the map
Distributor, supermarket and corner-shop lists usually arrive as addresses. They are matched, deduplicated and verified. As long as one outlet is counted twice, your coverage rate is wrong too.
- Matching
- Enrichment
- Deduplication
- Verification
-
02
The eligible outlet universe is built
Next to your own outlets goes the list of every point in that area that could sell your product.
- Population
- Business records
- Outlet type
- Field observation
-
03
Scorecard, forecast and route
Districts are ranked by coverage rate, open outlets are scored by revenue potential, and the field team’s visit order is built from those two lists.
- Coverage scorecard
- Open outlet list
- Revenue forecast
- Visit route
Your sales points are retail businesses in their own right. If you also want to work the high-street and shopping-centre structure, the brand mix or the store side of the estate, the same infrastructure is described on Next Geo’s separate Retail sector page.
NEXT STEP
Let’s map your sales points together.
Let’s work out together which dataset and which analysis title your sales and distribution strategy needs.
